Zephaniah 3:17

My memory verse this week has been: "The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing." Zephaniah 3:17

I haven't been doing my blog as well as I had hoped, but if atleast one person reads this then I am doing something right. I write all this to touch people and stir their hearts. I am doing a new devotional book. I want to start learning scripture more and actually learn it and knowing what it says and applying it. We need to be more confident on the inside than on the outside. When people look at us, they should see something different about us and realize that it is Jesus Christ.

My new memory verse is: "Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ." Galations 1:10

Our entire purpose is to be servants. The great commandment is to love others. And to be quite honest, I have done a horrible job at it. Sure we may be "quiet", "shy", "good" people. But that doesn't matter. God commanded us to do so! Just waking up and be a good person and going to church is great, but it really isn't good enough. No matter who we are, I personally think that everyone should be involved in a bible study group. If you are single/not married, go to a young adults one! I attend my Patchwork bible study and it is ages 18-29. You may feel awkward at first, but as long as you attempt to learn about Christ then that is a great start! And if you know one person in there or have a friend to go with you, then it makes it a lot more comfortable. If you are married then I think it is an awesome thing to go to a bible study together!

I want to serve. I want to get better involved and I am looking at different options and ways I can do so. Ways to serve is everywhere, and some are so simple we don't even realize it!

He is our Mighty Creator

PSALM 103
"1 Praise the LORD, O my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
2 Praise the LORD, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits-

3 who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,

4 who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,

5 who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.

6 The LORD works righteousness
and justice for all the oppressed.

7 He made known his ways to Moses,
his deeds to the people of Israel:

8 The LORD is compassionate and gracious,
slow to anger, abounding in love.

9 He will not always accuse,
nor will he harbor his anger forever;

10 he does not treat us as our sins deserve
or repay us according to our iniquities.

11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his love for those who fear him;

12 as far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

13 As a father has compassion on his children,
so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him;

14 for he knows how we are formed,
he remembers that we are dust.

15 As for man, his days are like grass,
he flourishes like a flower of the field;

16 the wind blows over it and it is gone,
and its place remembers it no more.

17 But from everlasting to everlasting
the LORD's love is with those who fear him,
and his righteousness with their children's children-

18 with those who keep his covenant
and remember to obey his precepts.

19 The LORD has established his throne in heaven,
and his kingdom rules over all.

20 Praise the LORD, you his angels,
you mighty ones who do his bidding,
who obey his word.

21 Praise the LORD, all his heavenly hosts,
you his servants who do his will.

22 Praise the LORD, all his works
everywhere in his dominion.
Praise the LORD, O my soul."

Psalm 104
"1 Praise the LORD, O my soul.
O LORD my God, you are very great;
you are clothed with splendor and majesty.

2 He wraps himself in light as with a garment;
he stretches out the heavens like a tent

3 and lays the beams of his upper chambers on their waters.
He makes the clouds his chariot
and rides on the wings of the wind."

Words...

I created this blog with something in mind. To reach people. If someone happens to stumble upon this and read one post, I hope that they get something out of it that they will carry with them. I want to share the Gospel through a blog, and not in an "in your face" kind of way. Hopefully my experience, and my thoughts can touch someone and open a door in their heart.

"The Lord merely spoke,
and the heavens were created.
He breathed the word,
and all the stars were born.
He assigned the sea its boundaries,
and locked the oceans in vast reservoirs.
Let the whole world fear the Lord,
and let everyone stand in awe of Him.
For when He spoke, the world began!
It appeared at his command."
--Psalm 33:6-9

"Let all that I am wait quietly before God,
for my hope is in Him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress where I will not be shaken.
My victory and honor come from God alone.
He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me.
O my people, trust Him at all times.
Pour out your heart to Him,
for God is our refuge."
--Psalm 62:5-8

"I lie awake thinking of You,
meditating on You through the night.
Because You are my helper,
I sing for joy in the shadow of Your wings.
I cling to You,
Your strong right hand holds me securely."
--Psalm 63:6-8

‎"...but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint."
--Isaiah 40:31

I became a Christian when I was 7, and at 13 I realized that I needed to show I was a Christian on the outside and through my actions. Getting out of my comfort zone is not easy, and I need to get used to it. If you love God, then why not tell people about it? This is one of my ways of telling people! God loves you, why else would he create you?! You are his masterpiece! We need to look in the mirror and say with confidence that "I am an original masterpiece made by God." I encourage you to look into your heart and see what is there, and to get out of your comfort zone!
